WHICH SIDE OF THE TRACKS? (5-17-08)

With socialism, we all live "on" the train tracks

There are a lot of poor people out there. Democrats run for office pretending that they are the only ones looking out for them. This gives voters the idea that democrats have a heart. What most "tax paying" voters don't realize is that there can be too much of a good thing. Having a national safety net to aid the unfortunate is a needed thing in modern society. But to what extent? Just how poor deserves government assistance? And. Just how much assistance? These are American tax dollars, being redistributed to people who do not pay anything. The American peoples hard earned money must be spent wisely. The less money waisted, the less we'll need to collect through taxation. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama, both very liberal Democrats, would love to see an America where everyone is financially equal. American communism. If you are poor and struggling, the Democrats will claim they are your only hope. But if your not poor and do pay taxes, just remember, a certain percentage of what government takes from your pocket, is going in someone elses. "Poor" is a relative term. Ask any 100 people where poor ends and rich begins and you'll get 100 different answers. Ask any democrat over the last couple decades and that number too has changed. What they think is poor is far above the poverty level and what they call rich is actually in the middle class. Ask a family earning $80,000 if they feel rich. Democrats say they are. So, where does the safety net stop? And, where does the pain of additional tax burden start? The most important question is... What happens when the Socialist Democrats put their policy numbers in place? All of the drive to succeed is gone when you don't have the reward reflected in your pay. After additional taxes are imposed to support, what the democrats term, "the poor", will you be poor? You, as an example, are the poorest of the rich, making $80,000. You find all your increased schooling and extra hours at the office has only helped to cover the increased tax you pay. So you don't bother working the extra hours. Why take time away from your family when it gains you nothing. Everyone in your position will do the same thing. The productivity of all businesses will fall, hurting the economic growth of the country. People are laid off, can't find a job and are added to the poor people who need government support. Then the Dem's find out all you who were making 80,000 have "wage dropped" out of their extra tax. Either they tax even lower incomes or they boost the tax rate again for people making over $90,000. They will "wage drop" under the tax hike. Productivity starts to hurt profits. The foreign competitors drive your business into bankruptcy. Your unemployed, the economy tanks, and government revenue shrinks. They need even more government revenue. This time is it people over $60,000 or more discouragement on the 100K earners. Yes, Socialism creates financial equality. It creates a country where we are all equally poor! Just remember the newspaper and television images that came out of the old Soviet Union. People were waiting in line for hours to buy government subsidized bread and toilet paper. I believe in equal pay for equal work, and equal tax burden (by percentage). Anything short of this is just plain wrong. I believe in a safety net for people below the poverty level so long as we don't get bogged down in class warfare. All cost is payed by all taxpayers paying the same rate. My degree of government assistance would be cut to a bare minimum. A "less is more" policy would be the golden rule. The less comfortable you make the safety net, the more likely people will want to get off it. The less government revenue used for the safety net, the more of our money we get to keep in our pockets. The Democrats idea of creating a Socialist America is absolutely the worst thing we can do. Those in need should definitely be helped. But the socialist Democrat idea of income redistribution will put us smack dab in the wake of the Soviet Union, North Korea and Cuba.
