Quick rants of a sad (and bored) news junkie

Well, I've taken a bit of a break from my usual monthly rants on the direction I see this country is headed under socialist rule. I've become somewhat discouraged, because I know that little can be done to counter this "change" until the 2010 mid-term elections. This, along with the B.S. between Rush and the new head of the RNC, the constant, unwavering and unjustified Bush bashing, and other "small minded" issues (such as Colin Powell) that have dominated the popular media, have pushed out any serious issues. This media fluff may be entertaining to most, but they have done little, in my mind, to stimulate real debate about where we are and where we should be heading. That said, I do have a few things on my mind. Barack Obama has injured our national security by releasing the C.I.A memos regarding the enhanced interrogation methods. And he did so purely for political reasons. I find this unbecoming of a setting President and irresponsible as our commander and chief. I welcome the call for investigations of the "Harsh treatment" of gitmo and other detainees. Go ahead and have a ... big ... public ... hearing ... as to whether they were justified and legal, as well as who knew what and when. This issue will most likely blow up in Obamas face, vindicate the vilified and take down the democratic congressional leadership that advised and consented. This is just the issue Republicans need to rally "national security" moms and "Jack Bauer" dads to the voting booth in 2010. It will expose Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as either delinquent in their duties or complicit to torture in the eyes of the leftist f*cks that support them. This is a win-win issue for the right, and the correct. Obama has decided not to release the photos in an attempt to get this issue out of the way for his ...big ...socialist ... agenda. But an issue that accuses someone of power, of breaking a law, is not going away until someone goes down. Pelosi has a new lie every day to cover a past lie she was caught in the day before. And the press are eating it up. They can taste blood and will never let go. Hope Harry's next. Obamas unnecessary apology tour to Europe and Mexico denigrated our country. Validation was given to American haters who perceive us as arrogant and derisive. Since when is voicing an opinion or pushing for your countries national interests considered arrogant. Only in Europe. Where very little changes, and where, "don't rock the boat", is a way of life. This man humbles himself to our friends and our adversaries, who, will only perceive this as weakness, and will continue their misdeeds -w- little regard to our reaction. Democrats claim our president, and our nation, is now more respected than before his election. Well, that's a pretty empty claim if this new found respect shows a zero sum gain on international challenges and weakens our position, our pull, and our leverage, on future geopolitical issues. The new perception that we are no different than the other indecisive nations of the world, has lowered our status. We actually went from, "a country for change", to, "whatever you guys want". The tone, the optics, the atmosphere of his trip was fine. He's popular because he still has that new puppy smell. The man had two objectives on this trip. One was to get the G20 nations to spend another 2% of G.D.P. to "Pull their weight" in the global economic recovery. The other was to get the N.A.T.O. member states to "Pull their weight" in Afghanistan. Europe shot him down on both fronts. I don't blame them on spending issue. Obamas 1920's economic thinking makes little sense to anyone. Europeans already spend too much on socialist aid. But Afghanistan was important. Did he press the issue....NO! (F*ckin p*ssy). The only success was an increase of non combat troops to Afghanistan and an increase in the world monetary fund to help poorer nations through the downturn. O.K., That was probably needed, but this does not make the trip a success by any ones measurement. Sure he's popular over there. Kinda like Madonna, only with less pull. It's easy to stay liked when you don't make waves. Waves, however, are needed. Someone. Anyone. Needs to rock the boat!! Iran, N. Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Middle east peace....There's a lot to do.....and less time to do them with every passing day. Bush was accused of ignoring Latin American countries to fight his war on terror. Obamas going to ignore the entire world to focus on socialist domestic policy. One week after Obama left Europe, French president Nickolas Sarkosi was quoted as saying "Obamas policies were unsubstantial and overrated". Oh yeah, they love him. There is very little substance to the Obama foreign policy agenda. That's why Clinton got the secretary of state job.
